Blass Hurls League's 10^th No Hitter, Sets Single Season Record!

Steve Blass became the 10^th pitcher this year to throw a no hitter as the Redlegs defated the Rifles 1-0. Blass' opponent, Dick Tidrow, pitched well for the Rifles, allowing just one run on five hits, but his teammates couldn't touch Blass. Blass struck out 6, walked 2 and faced just 28 batters. Rick Monday had 2 of the 5 hits off Tidrow, one of them drove in Rico Carty with the game's only run.
